Rubicon Coffee

Jay Bagley’s fast pace life began many years ago. He experienced much of Europe and a little of the Middle East and Central America, most for work, some for play. Then, upon returning to the United States he moved to Alaska to experience the ‘last frontier.’ There was always one thing that could help him slow down and “enjoy the ride” during all of those ‘early days.’ A PERFECT CUP OF COFFEE!

After many years of thinking about it and planning, he moved to Paonia, right in the heart of the valley to the majestic Northfork of the Gunnison River. The agricultural bounty, beautiful mountains, and amazing artists, writers, musicians, and all around talented people helped him decide to stay there. After relocating he continued his search for that PERFECT CUP OF COFFEE!

He found some excellent coffee and many mediocre roasts and none in the Northfork Valley. Then, he began home roasting coffee beans while still searching for that perfect cup of coffee until finally, he was able to come up with some superb roasts of fine coffee from many places in the ‘coffee belt’ and decided to share that experience with people in Western Colorado. Two years ago he began Rubicon Roasting.

"One of my passions is to do whatever I can to help our environment survive mankind’s abuses of it. We found sealable, compostable bags that work extremely well. I wanted to be sure to have compostable labels to go along with the bags so in my research I found Plan It Green Printing. We’re now in production with both bags and labels that are COMPOSTABLE. Awesome!
